Common Queries
General Questions
DO I REALLY NEED A HOME INSPECTION ON A NEWER HOME?
Yes! Many newer homes have the same problems that older homes do such as water penetrations and insect damage in roofs, foundations, basements, doors and windows.
WHAT BENEFIT DOES A HOME INSPECTION GIVE TO ME?
No home is perfect and without defects, but knowing what those defects are before you make the largest purchase (30 years of payments) of your life will allow you to negotiate for the cost to fix them. There may be major defects (mold, radon gas, wood destroying insects) that a home inspection will allow you to make an informed decision on how to move forward.
$425 SEEMS LIKE A LOT FOR A HOME INSPECTION. CAN'T I SHOP AROUND FOR A CHEAPER ONE?
For a home inspector to make a living doing cheap inspections, they would have to do them very quickly. They would take short cuts, be rushed and your new home would NOT be thoroughly inspected. Many defects can be missed, but just one of those defects can cost you $5000, $10,000 or even $20,000 just to save $100.
I AM A SELLER, CAN YOU INSPECT BEFORE I LIST MY HOME?
Yes we can do a “pre-listing” inspection to catch any issues that may lead to you losing a potential buyer!
